The Exhibits
The 5G & Me tech experience showcases interactive exhibits across diverse industries that leverage the capabilities of 5G. I led designs for exhibits in Manufacturing, Magic Mirror, and Health Pod while helping out with some of the others.

Pre-Planning
UI design and set fabrication happened at the same time, and left little room for error. We made sure to study the specs beforehand to ensure accurate environmental design while optimizing for usability & inclusivity.
Having the latest specs allowed us to measure everything out beforehand. We got an idea on how to approach the ui designs—which would shown on uncommon devices in uncommon environments.
In some instances, adjustments had to be made if the ux called for it, like ideal screen-sizing.
Finding Our Look
A lot of things were considered when coming up with our final exhibit aesthetic. We wanted to be highly technical and futuristic, but we also needed to be low-effort, and user-friendly.
We worked closely with our 3D gfx team and refined the exhibit aesthetic along the way—never compromising on usability. The teamwork was clutch with on-the-fly renders against changing art directions.
Wireframing took up a big portion of the process stack, although it was necessary due to the narrative-heavy nature of the project. Our wireframes gave us the confidence to make big decisions quick.
choosing the right interactive model for the job
Designing for environment meant choosing the right interactions and UI scale for the job.
With our 3d renders in hand, We went through a number of looks w/different degrees of technicality and brand identity. Ultimately, we went with something bold as any nuance would probably be lost.
Accurate scale in our GFX was important as the exhibits often utilized secondary devices to interact with the actual sets. Things like tablet/ar tasks and smart mirror interactivity depended on this.
Design Details
Here’s a selection of some of the different UI designs that are showcased in this tech experience. These span across a variety of exhibits and utilize a number of different device types.
Augmented Reality UI Selects
Fun tasks like using augmented reality to remotely scan broken machine parts (and auto-order replacements) were just some of the ways exhibit-goers could interact with the sets while armed with 5G.

Component Design
The Manufacturing exhibit utilized a large, sliding TV in order to show the many different little areas in which 5G can bolster a company's manufacturing process.
Magic Mirror Connected health selects
While Magic Mirror showed how connected devices in unexpected places could improve one's health with daily health round-ups paired with smart suggestions.
Health pod connected Diagnostics Ui selects
And to further show how one can improve their health with 5G, our health pod exhibit took it a step further by providing Doctor recommendations based on Smart Mirror results.
Results
The work culminated in a successful launch with the exhibit still going strong to this day. Here are just a few shots of the final T-Mobile 5G & Me tech experience!
